We have experience in shipping scooters to many different countries around the world and whilst it is your ultimate responsibility to make sure that your scooter can be sucessfully imported into your country we will do the best we can to help you with this process.

Import restrictions and duties payable vary from country to country and state to state, what is worth mentioning however is that due to the original production date in Italy of the scooters we stock (usually 1950s-1972) alot of the usual import complications which might otherwise apply to newer vehicles do not apply to any scooters we stock.

Shipping quotes can be requested from us in various forms -

• Sea Freight to depot (recommended)

In this case your scooter will be packed and crated in the UK, delivered to shipping company and they will take it over the sea to your country, upon unloading the cargo at port the shipping company will then get in touch with you directly to let you know the scooter has arrived. At this point there will be some unloading/customs fees to pay. In the US a typical charge for this will be around $180US. After payment of these fees the freight forwarding company will then move your scooter overland to the Depot they operate at which is nearest to you. As soon as the scooter has arrived they will let you know so that you can come down and pick it up.

Sea Freight is charged per cubic meter, one vespa scooter typically measures 1.6 CBM.

Warehouse storage depots operate in most major cities in the US, Canada, Australia and Europe.

• Sea Freight, Door to Door Delivery

This method of shipping works in exactly the same way as normal Sea freight with the exception that instead of you having to come down and pick up your scooter at a depot or warehouse the scooter will be delivered directly to an address of your choosing. This is clearly the most straight forward method of delivery though can cost substantially more than the standard Sea Freight to Depot.

• Express Air Freight Door to Door Delivery

A rather expensive option but possible nevertheless, we can have your scooter picked up and transported to most major cities around the world then moved overland from airport to your door.

Air Freight is charged per Kilogram of weight, one vespa scooter typically weighs around 200KG

Information specific to importing a scooter to your country -

Below is some infomation which we have gathered since exporting Vespas to various different countries around the world. For more information we highly recommend you join your local Vespa Scooter Club or Organisation who will often for a small joining fee be more than happy to assist you.

United States

The Department of Transport (DOT) and Enviromental Pollution Authority (EPA) restrictions are waivered with regards to motor vehicles produced before 1975. This means that you do not have to pay any taxes on the scooters you import to your country.

You will have to register your scooter at your local DVLA and we will provide you with all the paperwork necessary to complete this procedure as smoothly as possible. Some state laws require in order to be road legal that scooters have at least one or two mirrors attached which we can supply with your scooter.

Canada

Similiar conditions apply as to that of the United States. Import duties are not applicable due to the age of the scooters and we will provide you with all the necessary paperwork in order for you to register your scooter with the relavant authorities.

Australia

Specific rules apply to importing scooters into different states in Australia, if you live in Australia and would like to purchase a scooter from us we recommend that you get in touch with a shipping agent locally prior to ordering who will be able to advise you on local charges and regulations in your state. In New South Wales and Queensland you will be able to import the scooter yourself without using a customs agent though in order to do this you will need to apply for the relevant state import license before hand.

Europe

Shipping a scooter anywhere inside the EU is a relatively straightforward process, let us know where you are and we will let you know the cost of getting a scooter to you as soon as possible. Local vehicle registration in your country will of course be necessary for which we will provide you with all the relevant paperwork.
