Formed in 1977 and generally regarded as hugely responsible for the UK Ska revival scene which exploded in the late 70s. Keyboardist Jerry Dammers founded the now legendary 2-Tone record label to which they were originally signed.
The Specials became well known for their signature Mod-style tonic suits and 2-Tone fusion of mod and ska music.
